The Retreat by Sabi Sweat

A private room for people doing things.

Lakowe Lakes, Lagos October 9–11, 2026 World Mental Health Day weekend Fully residential

The concept

This is not
a conference

The Retreat is a high-curation wellness and ideas weekend for founders, creatives and operators building serious things. Restoration and reflection on one side; access to thought leaders and cultural icons on the other. Ambition and wellness, treated as partners, not competitors.

And the timing is the point: the Saturday mainstage falls on World Mental Health Day itself. A weekend built around the conversations high performers usually postpone, held on the one day the world agrees to have them.

Composed on the outside. Stretched on the inside.
This weekend is for you.

Access

Leading founders, creatives and cultural voices, in the room, not on a screen.

Intimacy

First-name badges, curated tables, no conference crowds. Everyone is close to the conversation.

Truth

Panels built on vulnerability and honest storytelling: the parts of success nobody posts.

Restoration

Morning yoga, guided meditation, and space to be still without losing momentum.

The weekend

Three days, deliberately paced

Friday · Arrive

A curated welcome to Lakowe Lakes: check-in, wellness experiences and intimate first connections as the city noise fades behind you.

Saturday · World Mental Health Day

The heart of the weekend, on the day itself. Morning yoga and grounding, afternoon mainstage panels on reinvention, the psychology of success, wealth and isolation, narrative control and sustainable ambition, then an evening private dinner with curated networking.

Sunday · Restore

Recovery and reflection: guided meditation, journaling and integrative wellness sessions before a soft close and the journey home.

The conversations

Five rooms worth flying for

Five mainstage conversations, and a headline speaker who embodies every one of them.

  • The Psychology of Success: the hidden sacrifices, burnout and emotional debt of ambition.
  • Wealth, Identity & Isolation: social mobility and building wealth without losing yourself.
  • Attention, Perception & Narrative Control: fame versus ownership, and the systems behind sustained success.
  • Rest, Sustainability & Opting Out: redefining productivity as a high performer.
